Canadian Religious Broadcasters Association

Dear Pastor :

I would like to extend an invitation for you to be a founder of the Canadian Religious Broadcasters Association at a special meeting on Thursday, October 27th 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at Canada Christian College, 50 Gervais Drive, Toronto. We are honoured to have Dr. Frank Wright, president of the National Religious Broadcasters Association Washington, DC, as our special speaker for this luncheon and seminar.

We live in a day where the cause of Christ within the nation of Canada is under great threat. The designation of historic Christian teaching as hate speech, the demand that religious groups hire unbelievers in key staff positions, the constant censorship of Christian content on radio and television are all examples of significant threats to the interests and viability of Christian broadcasters.

Unfortunately this is true in almost every sphere of our society. Preachers in Canada are now having their programs censored and some are being forced off the air. Less and less airtime is now available for the Gospel at an ever increasing price.  There is an urgent need to establish an organization that will stand up for Christian broadcasting interests within Canada.

In 1944 American Christian leaders felt the same pressure and formed the National Religious Broadcasters. Today 144 million Americans watch their member programs and their government does not dare to censor the Gospel.  America has thousands of Christian television stations and Canada has just three. In August of this year Dr. Charles McVety, his wife Jennifer and myself went to Washington and met with their leadership.  They agreed to help us in the initial process and welcome the CRBA as an affiliate. After that meeting the Canadian Religious Broadcaster Association was launched.

The CRBA will work to preserve religious freedom and strengthen members’ efforts to proclaim the message of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ through multiple media and Internet platforms.

Together we can reach the world for Christ.

Please clear your busy schedule for this important founding meeting of the CRBA.

Dr. Peter R. Marshall
President, Canadian Religious Broadcasters Association
